Project Overview

We were contracted with Ryan Companies to complete site preparation for a 2.4 million square foot, 4-story distribution center for Amazon.  The earthwork portion of the project included excavation and backfill for the building, and construction of all parking lots, roadways, and service drives.

Utility work on the site included the construction of stormwater retention ponds to capture and manage runoff; and sanitary, sewer, and public water main.

The excavation and work Veit performed included clearing and grubbing, cut-and-fill, site stabilization, and fire protection.  In addition, Veit constructed stormwater ponds to catch water runoff.

Inclement Weather
We worked through winter months to meet the aggressive construction schedule.

Wet Earth
In order to mitigate the wetness of the dirt, we used cement stabilization. Because of this, the site had to be graded within 90 minutes of the application. This approach expedited the project schedule and created a firmer foundation and a consistent base, without expansion or extractions.
