Project Overview

Ryan Companies, Inc. contracted with Veit to provide commercial site preparation for a 750,000 SF distribution center in Lakeville, Minnesota. The project included excavation and backfill for the 17.72-acre building footprint, construction of roadways and parking lots, and installation of utilities including water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, discharge header, and well-and-point system dewatering. To meet the aggressive schedule, the Veit team worked six days a week for twelve-hour shifts and finished the mass grading and footing preparation eight weeks ahead of schedule.

Challenges We Solved

Aggressive Schedule
To meet the aggressive schedule, we worked six days a week for twelve-hour shifts and finished the mass grading and footing preparation eight weeks ahead of schedule.

Wet Conditions
In order to mitigate the wetness of the soil, we used cement stabilization.
03.
Inclement Weather
We worked late nights and long hours to combat the effects of freezing temperatures on the ground. Once to grade, frozen soil was no longer a challenge.
