What was supposed to be a 4-week operator job has turned into 16+ years and a career I’m proud of. Today, I’m General Superintendent of Utilities. Veit’s management support and family-like team culture make it a place where people want to stay and grow.
Joining Veit was one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. The leadership is top-notch, the people truly care, and you’re never just a number. Hard work is recognized, opportunities are endless, and everyone feels like family here.
I’ve had many proud moments at Veit — some tied to jobsite wins, and others more personal. But what truly inspires me these days is watching our newer employees and future leaders earn their stripes and being able to support them along the way. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Mike’s remarkable 14-year journey with the company has left a lasting legacy. As one of the pioneers who helped launch the Milwaukee group, his vision, leadership, and steady presence have shaped our team in countless ways.
Beyond his professional impact, Mike has been a trusted colleague and friend whose good humor, dependability, and genuine care for others will be deeply missed.
We are incredibly grateful for all that he has contributed and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mike Mahn as he retires on Thursday, April 2. We wish him every happiness and success as he begins this exciting new chapter of his life.
