I just wanted to take a few moments to compliment Phil and his team on what an excellent job they have done with the placement, backfilling and grading on bridge no 1. The grading looks amazing especially how the slopes blend into the existing terrain and the sweeping curves tying into the trail. I walked around the site for about an hour last night and saw numerous pedestrians and bikers cross over the bridge effortlessly. The design is just a plan but it is cool to see when someone can go beyond what is shown on paper to make everything work and blend into the existing. It really does look awesome.

Veit was very careful in their approach to demolishing the Drake Hotel, being mindful of the close proximity of the adjacent building. We appreciate their responsiveness to the changing circumstances and being dedicated to doing things safely. The City would not have been able to manage this delicate situation without the Veit team’s efforts.
