Senior Vice President of Civil Construction & Marine Services

Mitch, our senior vice president of civil construction and marine services, has been with Veit since May of 2005. He currently manages the earthwork and utility groups in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, and our marine division. “It’s a very competitive market in all aspects,” he says. “The only way to get ahead is by having the best people, and we have a lot of them.”

Mitch attended St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical College, where he graduated with a civil engineering and land surveying degree. He then continued his education at Minnesota State University Moorhead, graduating with a construction management degree. Before he came to Veit, he worked at a large heavy highway construction company as a project manager and estimator.

He says that his favorite part of his job is the constant challenge and variety of work. Using ingenuity to solve problems that arise on various projects is one of his many aptitudes. Mitch values Veit’s diversity of services, as very few of our competitors offer such a broad scope of work.

When he is away from work, his favorite pastimes are taking family vacations with his wife and their three young children. He also enjoys fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and taking in a few dirt track races.
