What was supposed to be a 4-week operator job has turned into 16+ years and a career I’m proud of. Today, I’m General Superintendent of Utilities. Veit’s management support and family-like team culture make it a place where people want to stay and grow.
Joining Veit was one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. The leadership is top-notch, the people truly care, and you’re never just a number. Hard work is recognized, opportunities are endless, and everyone feels like family here.
I’ve had many proud moments at Veit — some tied to jobsite wins, and others more personal. But what truly inspires me these days is watching our newer employees and future leaders earn their stripes and being able to support them along the way. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Happy National Apprenticeship Week!
This week, we’re celebrating our Veit apprentices who are learning, growing, and building their future with us. The following aspiring tradespeople are gaining real-world experience, developing their craft, and growing into skilled professionals with the support of their local union.
Currently, 74 apprentices are actively building their skills. Over the past year, 21 advanced to the next level, and 15 successfully completed the apprenticeship program with Veit—an exciting milestone that reflects their hard work and commitment!

However, stigma can prevent or delay people from seeking care or cause them to discontinue treatment. Stigma affects self-esteem and may cause people to have feelings of shame, worthlessness, and hopelessness.
You can combat stigma by educating yourself and supporting others. It is important to continue the conversation regarding mental health with empathy and encourage those struggling to seek help. Join groups or seek help from trusted individuals to combat isolation.
