Project Overview

In June 2024 Veit’s blasting division brought down the third and final arch of Kansas City’s John Jordan “Buck” O’Neil Memorial Bridge.  

Built in 1956, this historic triple-arch skyline fixture was a vital link between downtown Kansas City and the northland.  

As the old bridge was nearing the end of its lifespan, Veit partnered with MoDOT and the Buck O’Neil Bridge project team to plan and execute. 

Veit executed multiple implosions in this four-phase project to ensure environmental integrity and safety.
