Chief Financial Officer

Steve is our CFO, and he joined our team in December of 2018. Beyond leading the accounting, finance, and IT teams, he is a strategic partner to our owner and president. He embraces the challenge of developing reliable financial forecasts that allow us to make strategic investments within an industry where demand can be highly variable. Steve came to Veit from the manufacturing world, where demand is more consistent and easier to predict.

Steve earned his accounting degree from the University of North Dakota and started his career in public accounting. After that, he worked for a food company, a pharmaceutical company, and a manufacturing company before coming to Veit.

He says that he enjoys the culture and people at Veit. “It’s energizing to be part of a culture where people are proud to wear the company logo,” he says. Steve also notes that Veit has more collaboration and teamwork than he experienced at his previous companies. As he points out, in construction, “you’re only as successful as the guys in the field doing the work for you.”

In his free time, Steve likes to hang out with his wife and three children. They spend much of their time chasing the kids around to their various athletic activities. When he gets some time to himself, Steve likes to hunt, fish, and golf.
