Michael is our Senior Vice President of Civil Construction and has been with Veit since 2006. He oversees our earthwork and utility groups for the Wisconsin, Duluth, and Iowa regional offices and for “out-state” operations, which includes anything outside the Twin Cities metro area.
Michael attended Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and has experience in project management and estimator roles. Michael is the Chair of the advisory board for the MSUM Construction Management program, which allows him to give back in helping the next generation get started in the construction industry.
He enjoys working in construction because it’s a fascinating industry. “This industry provides a sense of accomplishment for everyone involved. It’s fulfilling to provide these services and see how we physically change the land and infrastructure around us for the better.” Working at Veit allows him to collaborate with our “fantastic group of people.”
Michael has many favorite projects, but his most recent is the Mission Critical work we have been involved in, as it truly exemplifies the best of what collaborative teamwork can accomplish. The project requires an elevated level of coordination between our estimating and project management, operations staff, craft workers, and safety officers, each bringing their expertise to ensure every detail is accounted for. Additionally, the project’s emphasis on safety is paramount, and it is reassuring to know that every decision, whether big or small, is made with the utmost care for the well-being of everyone on site.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchild. He loves watching his youngest ones play sports and enjoys getting outdoors and hunting.
